NPS 4x Round 1, UK Bike Park, Dorset
Jimmy '4X' Norton clipped in and headed down to Dorset to race the 4X with the Urban Air team to get their snap on and rub elbows with the nations finest in the premier multi-man race series.
by Phil on 22nd May 2009.
Round one of the National Points series was held this weekend past at the UK Bike Park in deepest darkest Dorset. The track was used for a round of the series last year, which was a unfortunately marred by heavy rains which turned the racing into a bit of a mudfest. No such problems this year however as the whole weekend was dry and sunny, and enjoyed by all.
The track was pretty basic, and due to little preparation meant the racing line was thin and turned the racing into a bit of a procession. Urbanair was out in force with 5 riders in attendance, Kim & Dom Bent, Ben Turner, Richard Norton and myself. We had a good team pits with the Urbanair easy-up, Fox banners lining the track and a prime spot to watch the action from inside the 1st corner.
Star of the weekend has to be Ben Turner, only 9 years old and racing 12-17 year olds, holding his own and coming 5th – there will be more to come from him, definitely one to watch out for!

The Urban Air 4X team
Racing went pretty well for all, bar a few crashes, and a good weekend was had by all. Scott Beaumont took the Elite win, followed by Lewis Lacey and Will Evans in 3rd.
