What better way to end a hard year of racing than trucking down to the Midlands for the final round of the Pearce series. Nick Emerson toughed out some hot racing and hotter weather to bring you the lowdown.

Introducing the Fat Face Night Ride 2008 UCI C2 Race
Building on the success of the Edinburgh race last year, the format returns to the streets. This year it's coming from from the seaside town of Scarborough. With a fat prize purse and pro rider line-up, it looks set to be a killer event.

NPS Round 5 venue change
Stop the press - VENUE CHANGE for the final round of the 2008 NPS. Torrential rain hit region and the carp ark [yup, intentional poor pun] looks like it won't dry out in time for next weekends hoards of vans. The organisers picked up the whole event and moved it even further North. Si Paton tells us more...

416 downhillers from 29 nations headed over to Pra Loup, France, last week for the Masters Worlds. Racing was flat out and dusty (when we got a chance to ride) and the UK riders dominated. I'm back and most of the dust is no longer in places dust shouldn't be - report and photos here soon!

British National Championships
19th and 20th July sees the biggest domestic event in the UK race calendar heading back to the super fast Bala track, with a tweak. It's confirmed that a huge bridge/fly-off will launch riders over the road into a brand new finish arena.
If you have 5 ranking points and fancy a crack at the National Championship jersey, you'd better not hang around. Entries for the Champs need to be in to Pearce by the end of the week.
